The Launch of Germantown's Community Rain Barrel Program!
This past summer, Sustainable Germantown partnered with The Great American Rain Barrel Company to offer a Community Program for Germantown residents to order discounted rain barrels. On July 13th, twenty-one rain barrels were distributed to residents. The barrels were 100% re-purposed, food-grade, UV protected, & BPA-free barrels from right across the Massachusetts border.

Our first co-sponsored event! Composting 101 with Mike
On Thursday evening, May 27th, we gathered behind the library for our first Climate Smart Community co-sponsored event. Farmer and former college-level biology teacher Mike Cotrone of Bonhomie Farm gave us residents the essentials in backyard composting.

Library Composting Workshop
Join the Germantown Library, Climate Smart Communities Task Force and Micheal Controne from Bonhomie Farm for a hands on learning experience in the lower lot of the Germantown Library. We will learn how to turn our food and lawn scraps into valuable soil nutrients.
