The Climate Smart Communities program involves gathering data on greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases trap heat in our atmosphere and are a key part of what is changing our climate. They are emitted by some of our everyday activities such as driving and heating our homes. The USA has a goal of reducing these gases by 50% by 2030. In order to do this we have to be working on personal, professional and municipal levels. The first step for Germantown’s government is to see where we are now. These reports help us to see the best places to make smart changes for the future.
Many of the reports are updated or revised on an annual basis, this section offers a place to view all current reports and relevant historical documents.
You’ll also find the latest data blog posts highlighting the most relevant information from each report. You should get a good sense of our progress by reading through these posts without having to read each report front to back.
