Green Revolving Fund

At the May Town Board meeting, following months of work and discussion by the Climate Smart Committee, the Board, and others, the town passed a Green Revolving Fund (GRF) Resolution. The fund, established with a $5000 grant from NYSERDA, will be used for energy-saving upgrades of town equipment, such as replacing aging refrigerators or modernizing out-of-date heating or cooling systems. Then the reduced costs (due to energy savings) from these upgrades will be rotated back into the fund each year, providing funds for future upgrades.

Christina Bohnsack, our town's CSC Coordinator, said "The Green Revolving Fund is an exciting tool that will both help the town's budget and teach us all the financial power of investing in energy savings." You can find out more about the GRF in the actual Town Board Resolution.
